Uwe is an experienced mediation, insolvency and dispute resolution specialist with over 40 years experience in commercial and corporate law in top tier as well as independent firms. Uwe began his career in 1978 at the international firm now known as King & Wood Mallesons and moved on to become a founding member and Managing Partner of Meyer Boettcher & Clapham Lawyers (now known as Meyer Vandenberg). More recently, Uwe acted as Special Counsel at internationally renowned Minter Ellison and then as Partner at national insurance law firm, Abbott Tout. Over the years, Uwe has acted for many Australian public companies, banks and credit providers as well as leading insurance firms in a range of matters.

Uwe was appointed a Fellow of FINSIA (the Financial Services Institute of Australasia) in 2007, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance in 2005, Fellow of the Australian & New Zealand College of Notaries in 2009 and Foundation Fellow of the Australian Association of Angel Investors in 2011. He was a past Treasurer of the ACT Law Society and past Chairman of the Dispute Resolution Committee of the ACT Law Society, National Health Sciences Centre Ltd and the Australasian Legal Alliance.

He is chairperson of the ASX listed Xtek Limited and maintains special interests in investing, with a focus on early stage commercialisation of technology companies and associated capital raising, investing personally in numerous early stage companies and as an active director and chairperson in some and as a passive investor in others. Uwe has advised numerous companies on capital raisings, corporate governance, commercial disputes and corporate borrowing, both as a lawyer and as an independent mentor.
